NEWNAN, Ga. - Heavy rains were falling in Newnan Thursday evening, 11Alive's Jon Shirek reported.

The rains were part of a larger system that was expected to bring one to two inches of rain to the area Thursday night.

Thursday afternoon, the National Weather Service issued a Tornado Watch for an area south of Newnan.  The Watch included areas south of a line extending from Grantville to Griffin.
