NEWNAN, Ga. -- The University of West Georgia has received more funding to continue renovations of Newnan Hospital, where its Coweta County campus is housed.
The city of Newnan contributed $1.6 million to the project. The monies will go toward more parking lots, sidewalks and landscaping. A year-end fundraiser allowed the school to acquire an additional $1 million to equip its nursing and science labs.

Classes will be held at the Shenandoah Industrial Park while the campus undergoes renovations. The work is expected to be completed in August 2015.
"Together, we look forward to a new era of opportunity when this first-rate facility opens for classes next summer," UWG President Kyle Marrero said in a release.
