ATLANTA -- Georgia's Environmental Protection Division says the Air Quality Index for Metro Atlanta is 101 on Monday.

The EPD says the figure means Atlanta's air is unhealthy for sensitive groups, and it's issued an orange smog alert for the area.

The agency says children, people who are sensitive to ozone and people with heart or lung disease should limit prolonged outdoor exertion during the late afternoon or early evening when ozone concentrations are highest.

High temperatures are expected to be in the 80s on Monday and approaching 90 on Tuesday.

DNA IDs bin Laden, wife named him in raid

WASHINGTON (AP) - After the firefight that killed Osama bin Laden, the U.S. used "multiple methods" to positively identify his remains, according to a senior Pentagon official who personally saw a photograph of the corpse.

The official, who discussed the matter on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly, declined to specify the methods of identification, but two Obama administration officials said DNA evidence confirmed the death.

The officials claimed the DNA evidence provides a match with 99.9% confidence.

The Pentagon has also said the bin Laden's wife identified him by name during the raid.

Westmoreland: ‘This Is a Great Day for America’

McDonough, GA --  Last night, almost ten years after the terrorist attacks on September 11th, American troops raided a compound in Pakistan that resulted in the death of al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden.  As the leader of al-Qaeda, Bin Laden was behind the attacks on September 11th, the deadly attack on the USS Cole, and many other attacks on Americans around the world.  Below is Congressman Westmoreland’s statement.

“Today is a great day for America. After years of searching for the terrorist behind the most massive strike on American soil since World War II, we have finally killed Osama Bin Laden. This is a huge victory for our troops and I would like to personally thank them for all they have done for us. This historic victory is also due to our Intelligence Community and all of our international partners in the War on Terror. Without their work and support, we would never have been able to achieve this.

Atlanta Storm Chasers arrive on the scene of a devastating tornado that tore through a small neighborhood just north of Hot Springs, Arkansas on April 25th, 2011. At the time of our arrival Police and EMS were nowhere to be found, likely isolated from the city by dozens of downed trees and power lines.

There were initial rumors of a trapped woman and small child. After several minutes of trying to find the trapped persons, we realized that there was an oversaturation of attention on these few people and the fact that there were other people likely in need of help. We returned to the other end of the neighborhood where we parked our modified Toyota 4runner and begun to search a handful of houses for trapped survivors.
