Storms making a comeback in Georgia

ATLANTA -- Showers and storms will be on the increase Tuesday ahead of a cold front moving into the Southeast. With daytime heating, lots of moist humid air and the added instability of the nearby front, showers and storms are expected to light up the skies.

Some of the storms are capable of turning strong to severe.  In fact, the Storm Prediction Center out of Norman, Oklahoma has placed almost the entire state of Georgia, including all of the Atlanta metro area, in a slight risk zone for severe thunderstorms.

ATLANTA -- Another round of storms means another round of fallen trees in Metro Atlanta.

LaShaundra Stansel is recovering after a huge tree crushed her car as she was driving home Sunday night on Henderson Mill Road.

"I saw the tree falling.  I tried to swerve, but I felt it as it came down across my seat and the passenger's seat," said Stansel.

Stansel managed to duck right before the tree struck and walked away from the accident with a split lip and a large bump on her forehead.

Not everyone has been so lucky this season.
