The Buford-Spring Connector and other weekend construction

The Buford-Spring Connector and other weekend construction

ATLANTA -- Cobb County drivers can breathe a sigh of relief this weekend -- a major construction project has been completed two weeks ahead of schedule.

For the past several weekend, North Marietta Parkway (Highway 120) in Marietta has been partially closed on weekends as crews worked to replace concrete slabs.

Georgia Department of Transportation engineer Shun Pringle said the project is now done.

"It is always good when we can get something done early," Pringle said. "We appreciate the public's patience through the few difficult traffic weekends we were out there."

However, drivers on the Buford-Spring Connector in Atlanta won't be quite as lucky this weekend. Heavy delays are expected around the Georgia 400/Interstate 85 interchange project.

Pringle said there will also be intermittent closures on nearby Sidney Marcus Boulevard and Cheshire Bridge Road.
