NEWNAN, Ga. -- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation Medical Examiner has identified a body found in Newnan as that of a missing teenager.

The body was discovered Monday under a bridge on Summer Grove Parkway. Investigators determined the boy died of a gunshot wound.

Using a missing person's report, which included a description of a tattoo, police were able to identify him as 17-year-old Blake Tyler Chappell of Senoia.

Chappell was last seen Oct. 16 when he left a friend's house to walk to another home in the Summergrove subdivision, according to Newnan Police spokeswoman Gina Snider.

Police are now working to determine how Chappell was shot.

Anyone with information in this case is asked to call Newnan Police at 770-254-2355.
