Road paving, sidewalk construction begins next week

NEWNAN, Ga. -- Road crews will begin working on big projects in Newnan next week.

Sidewalk construction is scheduled to start Monday, July 21 along four roads.

Newnan City Engineer Michael Klahr said affected roads include:

1st Avenue
South side of the street between Buchanan and Lagrange streets

Roscoe Road
South side of the street between Sherwood and Christian drives

Saint Clair Street
West side of the street between Spring and Wesley streets

East Washington Street
North side of the street between the railroad tracks and Farmer Street

Scheduled road maintenance includes milling, laying new asphalt and installing pavement markings. It will begin Monday, July 28 and includes parts of Augusta Drive, Berry Avenue, College Street, Dixon Street, Edgewood Drive, Elm Circle, Nimmons Street, Richard Allen Drive, Robert Duke Place, Standish Court and Woodlane Drive.

All road projects are funded by SPLOST dollars.
