SHARPSBURG, Ga. -- Spring is in the air and you know what that means in Coweta County: football. Spring football is right around the corner and with the latest crop of football signees finishing up their last few weeks of high school, many college coaches are already turning their focus to recruiting the best of the class of 2016 recruits.
This past weekend was the unofficial kickoff of the college football recruiting season in the Southeast with some of the biggest names in football scouting and combines in the region.
The weekend started off with the Nike football combine series which began on Saturday at Northview High School, where over two thousand high school athletes from around the Southeast and as far away as Texas competed to demonstrate their skills. This event featured four skills challenges to test the athleticism of each player. 40 yard Dash, 5/10/5 Pro Shuttle, Vertical Jump, and the Kneeling Powerball Throw.
