Rep. Westmoreland visits dialysis center

NEWNAN, Ga. -- U.S. Rep. Lynn Westmoreland recently showed his support of kidney health awareness by visiting DaVita Dialysis Center in Coweta County.

Westmoreland met with patients and caregivers, and learned all about dialysis during his visit.

"I would like to thank the DaVita Dialysis Center in Newnan for inviting me to visit their facilities," Westmoreland, who lives in Coweta County, said in a statement. "Kidney disease is a very serious problem affecting people all over Georgia, and organizations like the DaVita Dialysis Center are helping these people not only survive their kidney disease, but are making it so they are able to live longer, happier lives."

According to the dialysis center, more than 20 million Americans over the age of 20 suffer from some type of kidney disease. High risk groups include African-Americans, Hispanics, Pacific Islanders, Native Americans and people over age 60.

DaVita Dialysis Center is located at 242 Bullsboro Drive. Learn more at davita.com.
