NEWNAN, Ga. – On Friday, April 29, East Coweta High School Lacrosse team will host their largest rival, the Newnan High Cougars, in a special home field matchup. Both, the girls and boys varsity games will play games on the special “Lacrosse Gives Back Charity Night”.
The two schools have partnered to raise money for the Andrew Oswald Scholarship Fund. The fund is named for Andrew Oswald, a former Pope High School lacrosse athlete who died in a drunken driving accident. The fund, a 501(c)-3 organization helps to promote Teen Safe Driving initiatives, funds scholarships and grants and hosts an annual LAXFest and golf tournament.
At the game, the school will be collecting donations, hosting field games and giving away door prizes. JV lacrosse players, from both schools, will be collecting donations during both games.
All youth lacrosse players will be admitted to the games for free, if they wear their lacrosse jersey. The girls game begins at 6:00 p.m.
