Architect couple's latest creation arrives early | Families
NEWNAN, Ga. -- This is a story about a local architect whose latest design was finished earlier than he expected.
Eric Matthews got home early to his Newnan home Tuesday, at around 5 p.m. He says that's when he heard his wife screaming upstairs.
Turns out Taneca Matthews, also an architect, had gone into labor with their second baby and there was no time to get to the hospital.
At the advice of the 911 operator, Eric got his wife on the bed; then he says he had to throw the phone to the floor because his child was coming.
Peyton, their baby girl, was born perfectly healthy -- and they got to Piedmont Newnan Hospital after the fact. It was less than 30 minutes from Taneca's first labor pain to the birth of their daughter.
Eric told us afterwards that he thought, "What is going on? I don't deliver babies in my bed!"
