Humane Society opens pet food pantry | Events
NEWNAN, Ga. -- The Newnan-Coweta Humane Society has launched a new initiative to help struggling pet owners feed their four-legged friends.
A special pet food pantry will be hosted by the NCHS on the first Saturday of every month, beginning Jan. 5.
"The Newnan-Coweta Pet Food Pantry will provide temporary food assistance to pet owners who are currently unable to afford food for their pets and may be forced to give up their pets without food assistance," NCHS president LouAnn Jones said in a statement.
Qualifying pet owners will receive a month's worth of food for up to three pets from the pantry. All pets must be spayed/neutered and up-to-date on rabies vaccinations.
The Jan. 5 pet food pantry distribution will be at the H.E.L.P. Spay/Neuter Clinic at 12 The Crescent in Newnan from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
