Public meetings to address voting redistricting

NEWNAN, Ga. -- Newnan city officials will host a series of public meetings later this month to address possible new redistricting maps for city voters.

City spokeswoman Gina Snider said the redistricting is necessary, as Newnan's population has grown by 103 percent since the 2000 census.

"This is an excellent opportunity to come and discuss what may be changing in your voting districts," city manager Cleatus Phillips said in a statement. "We would love to gather valuable input from the neighborhood residents and these meetings are a great way for citizens to express their thoughts to the city."

Meeting locations are spread out for residents' convenience and include:

Wahoo Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant
315 Millard Farmer Industrial Boulevard

Tuesday, Sept. 18
