NEWNAN, Ga. -- Three people were shot when suspects opened fire outside a Newnan house Tuesday night.

It happened at around 9:40 p.m. on West Washington Street near Wheat Street.

Newnan Police Deputy Chief Rodney Riggs said two men, ages 20 and 24, were sitting on a house's front porch when a burgundy car drove by. Someone inside the car fired several shots in the house's direction. Both men were hit, as was a 57-year-old woman in bed inside the house.

Riggs said the female victim was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital, while both male victims were taken to Grady by ambulance.

The shooting is under investigation. Police have not yet named any suspects.
