NEWNAN, Ga. -- Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 8, when the streets of downtown Newnan will undergo milling and resurfacing.

Streets included in the projected work include Spring Street, Perry Street, East Broad Street and East Washington Street from Court Square to the railroad right-of-way. An official of Newnan said work is scheduled to take place at night, starting around 7:00 p.m. This way, the road work will have minimal impact on business activity in Newnan.

If weather slows progress of the milling and resurfacing, work will be extended to Friday night, using Saturday as a possible make-up day. During work, crews will apply reflective thermoplastic traffic stripe and raised pavement markers, crosswalks and parking stall marking.
