ALPHARETTA, GA -- The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety's Traffic Enforcement Unit announces the completion of a fatality crash investigation.

On Monday, Oct. 4, Alpharetta 911 received emergency calls stating that a vehicle had left the roadway on Georgia 400 southbound. The investigation revealed a black Pontiac G6 passenger car left the right shoulder as it traveled GA 400 southbound south of the Mansell exit.

The vehicle left the roadway between the Mansell Road exit ramp and the overpass bridge above Mansell Road; it struck a small beam, causing it to go airborne over the sloping embankment before the overpass. The vehicle continued airborne and landed in the median of Mansell Road, then traveled across the eastbound lanes of Mansell Road and came to a stop.

Larry G. Pack, 53, of Newnan, was pronounced dead at the scene.
